How to Make a Victorian Hat for a Summer Wedding

Things You'll Need
- Hot glue gun
- Wire toque shape
- Medium ribbon-velvet (1 yard)
- Tulle (2 yards)
- Fake flowers (lilacs, pansies or roses)

Cut the tulle in half. You want to create two separate one-yard pieces. Next, twist the tulle pieces around the wire on the toque shape. Glue the ends of the tulle on the toque. Make sure it fluffs around the wire.

Push the extra fabric from the tulle inside the hat. Glue the pieces of fabric into place. If you wish, you can create a veil from the extra tulle fabric. To do this, you will cut a piece to the length you want and hot-glue it around the brim.

Hot-glue the medium ribbon around the hat. Make sure you create a smooth surface on the hat. You do not want wrinkles in your fabric. Use extra fabric from the ribbon to create a bow or tie it into a bow.

Place the fake flowers around the hat. To do this, you can glue the flowers around the wire toque in any way you choose. Choose one flower at a time, and create a pattern around the hat.
