Unplug the sewing machine before beginning. Locate the faceplate. The faceplate covers the needle mechanism.

    • 2

Remove the plastic screw cap from the front and center of the faceplate, using a flat-head screwdriver. Remove the faceplate screw beneath the cap using a Phillips screwdriver.

    • 3

Locate the needle bar. The needle bar rests vertically and holds the sewing needle in position. Oil the top of the higher square retaining bolts that hold the needle bar in position.

    • 4

Locate the bracket arm. The bracket arm mounts the needle bar to the inner housing of the sewing machine. Locate the top screw of the bracket arm, where it mounts to the inner housing of the machine. Oil this screw.

    • 5

Locate the mounting screw along the lower end of the bracket arm. Oil the connecting hardware in between the bracket arm and the needle bar.

    • 6

Raise the needle to its highest position. Slide the extension table off the machine by pulling to the left---away from the machine.

    • 7

Locate the hook cover. The hook cover can be found attached to the side, outer housing of the machine adjacent to the needle plate. Lower the hook cover by pulling the tab toward you and down.
