Get rid of pop-up ads when searching Google.

At times, you may notice advertisements that pop up when you search through Google. These annoying advertisements can be a drain on your computer's resources and can get in the way of trying to do research. To eliminate pop-ups, you can utilize your browser's pop-up blocker.

Instructions

Internet Explorer 7 and 8

1. Open your Internet Explorer browser.

2. Select "Tools" in the main menu bar.

3. Scroll down and select "Pop-up Blocker." Scroll over and hit "Turn On Pop-up Blocker."

4. Restart your Internet Explorer browser.

Firefox

1. Open your Firefox browser.

2. Select "Tools" in the main menu bar. Scroll down and click "Options."

3. Hit the "Content" tab. Place a check mark in the box next to "Block pop-up windows."

4. Click the "OK" button.
