How to Connect a Compresser & Airbrush thumbnail
Learn how to connect an air compressor and an airbrush.

An airbrush is a device used to spray paint onto any service. Airbrushing can be used to decorate clothing, customize automobiles and decorate stage sets for plays and shows. The airbrush connects to a reservoir of paint and to an air compressor. When a button on the airbrush is pressed, the air compressor activates, and the air goes through an air hose to push the paint through the nozzle of the airbrush.

Instructions

    • 1

Find the nozzle on the air compressor where the air exits from the compressor.

    • 2

Pick up the air hose and pull back the collar at one end of the hose to expose the hose nozzle.

    • 3

Push the nozzle from the air hose over the air compressor nozzle. This should be a snug and secure fit.

    • 4

Release the collar, and it will spring into place to secure the connection of the air hose and compressor to ensure there are no air leaks.

    • 5

Connect the other end of the air hose to the back end of the airbrush exactly the same way that you connected the air hose to the compressor.

Tips & Warnings

  • When you turn on the air compressor, listen for leaking air where the compressor connects to the air hose and where the airbrush connect to the air hose.

  • Some air hoses are threaded and need to be screwed onto the airbrush and air compressor.
