How to Delete Songs From a Computer But Not a Zune

Zune is Microsoft's addition to the MP3 player market. The popular device must be managed with the Zune software. The Zune software will update your Zune player according to what is currently in your Zune software library's playlist. If you delete a song from your library playlist or computer, Zune will assume that you also want to delete the song from your Zune player when the player is connected to the computer. Changing the sync options requires connecting your Zune to the computer.

  Connect your Zune to the computer using the device's USB cable.

  Open your Zune software.

  Click on the "Settings" menu at the top of the interface.

  Select the "Device" tab.

  Select "Manual sync" under Sync options. Press "OK" to save your new sync option.
