How to Set Up Hotmail on a Samsung Z400

The Samsung Z400, offered by Sprint-Nextel, allows you to check your email which the touch of a few buttons. You can also compose new messages and send them from your email account. The Z400 comes preconfigured for use with many popular email providers, including AOL and Hotmail. Because the Hotmail service is preconfigured, you don't have to enter complicated SMTP information. Setting up and using Hotmail with your Z400 is quick and simple.

      Press the left-soft key ("Menu") and select "Messaging." Scroll to and select "Email" and then press the right-soft key to start the email wizard.

      Type your wireless number (it may be prefilled) and press the right-soft key to continue. Select "Hotmail" from the list of preconfigured providers.

      Enter your Hotmail email address, then enter your password. Press the right-soft key to test and connect to the account.

      Read the terms of service and press the right-soft key for "Accept" to set up Hotmail on your Z400. Choose whether you want to enable Mail Push. This service automatically connects and notifies you when you have a new email message. However, it's provided by text message. These notifications can be costly if you do not have an unlimited text-messaging plan.

      Check your email by choosing "Menu," "Messaging," "Email" and "Hotmail." Press the right-soft key and select "Send/Receive" to check for new messages. Your Z400 will begin downloading your Hotmail messages.

      Send Hotmai -email messages from your Z400 by accessing your in-box and pressing the right-soft key. Select "Compose" to create a new email message. You can also select "Delete" or "Reply" when a message is highlighted.
