Share your slide shows on YouTube.

Creating a picture slide show is a fun way to share photos and graphics on anything from your last beach vacation to weddings and parties with your friends, family and colleagues. By publishing your picture slide show to YouTube, you will make it easily accessible for anyone to view. YouTube is not a program for creating media--only displaying it--so you will need to create your slide show before uploading it to YouTube.

Instructions

    • 1

Log on to your computer and open either Windows Movie Maker (for PCs) or iMovie (for Macs) by clicking the program icon on your desktop. If you do not see the icon, you can search for the program in the "Start" or "Finder" menus. If you do not have either program, you can download and install them for free on either the Microsoft or Apple official websites.

    • 2

Click "Pictures" if you are using Movie Maker and choose the photos you want to include, then click "Import." In iMovie, browse through your iPhoto library in the left corner of the iMovie window and drag the photos you want into the iMovie project window.

    • 3

Adjust the order in which the pictures appear by clicking and dragging them to any spot you wish, in either program.

    • 4

Add a professional touch to your slide show by using transitions between each photo. For Movie Maker, click "Transitions" and choose the one you prefer, then drag it between the two photos you would like to use it. For iMovie, click the icon on the far right side to view the transitions in the lower right window, then select the transition you want and drag it between any two photos.

    • 5

Add a soundtrack to your slide show in Movie Maker by clicking and dragging the audio track from your desktop into the "audio/music" section near the bottom of the window. In iMovie, browse your iTunes library on the right side, then drag any song into your slide show.

    • 6

Click "Titles and Credits" in Movie Maker, enter the title and names, select a font and color, then click "Add Title." For iMovie, click the text icon on the right size and select a title or credit page, then drag it to appropriate place in your slide show. Add your text and adjust the font and color.

    • 7

View your slide show and check for errors by clicking "Play" or "Preview."

    • 8

Log in to your YouTube account, then click "Upload," followed by "Upload Video." Find your slide show in the window, then click "Select." Add a title, description, and any tags, along with a category. Choose whether you wish your slide show to be public or private, then click "Upload Video." Depending on the size, it may take your slide show a few minutes to load before you can watch it on YouTube. If you are using iMovie, you can upload to YouTube from the program by clicking "Share" in the toolbar, then "YouTube," where you will fill out the same information above, in addition to your YouTube password.
