How to Make a Dinosaur Card
You can make handmade greeting cards with a few basic ingredients and some creativity. To celebrate a child's birthday, consider creating a dinosaur-themed card, for example. A handmade card will always come across as being more thoughtful than the store-bought variety, with the added bonus of personal satisfaction that you made something unique and from the heart.

1
Choose two coordinating colors of construction paper or card stock in the proper size for your card. For example, you may choose two types of green, or green and yellow, or blue and green. You will use one color to make the dinosaur on the cover of the card, and the other you will use for the card itself.

2
Draw or print out a dinosaur shape for the front of your card. Make sure that the shape is not too large or small for the chosen size of your greeting card. You want to use a simple design such as a silhouette, because you will be cutting this design out of the card.

3
Fold your card to the proper shape and size and transfer the dinosaur design onto the front of the card paper. The best way to do this is to cut your original pattern out, and then trace it directly onto the front of the card.

4
Cut the dinosaur design out of the front of the card so that there is now a dinosaur-shaped hole in the card. Fold the other sheet of paper to match the same size and shape as the dinosaur card. Place this piece of paper inside the card. Now the dinosaur-shaped hole in the front of the card should be the color of the inner piece of paper.

5
Write a special message on the inside of the dinosaur card, or use colored pens and stickers to create a picture for the card recipient.

Tips & Warnings
If the inner paper color is too dark to write a message or draw a picture, glue a piece of lighter-colored construction paper inside the card so that you have a lighter surface to work with.
