Instructions

    • 1

Measure the pants with the tape measure, marking where you want the new hem with a straight pin. If needed, find the correct length by trying them on and having a friend help you by marking the spot with pins.

    • 2

Turn the pants inside out. Using the marked point as a guide, pin the whole circumference of the cuff to the leg with the straight pins.

    • 3

Repeat this process on the other leg, making sure both legs are the same length once the cuffs are pinned in place.

    • 4

Turn the pants right side out.

    • 5

Thread your needle and knot the end securely.

    • 6

Stitch around the hem, keeping the larger stitches on the inside of the pants and the stitches on the outside minimal.

    • 7

When you have completed the cuff, knot the thread securely, close to the fabric, and cut it.

    • 8

Repeat this process on the other leg.

    • 9

Remove all of the straight pins.
