How Do You Download Yahoo Messenger Using Windows XP?
The current version of Yahoo Messenger still has the basic instant messaging and chatting functions, but it also includes webcam and voice chat support. Yahoo Messenger is compatible with Windows operating systems from XP on. Gather your friends' and families' Yahoo IDs, add them to your Yahoo!Messenger contact list and start chatting right away.

Open your Web browser and navigate to the Yahoo home page.

Click on the "Messenger" link on the left side of the screen.

Click the "Download Now" button on the page that opens, and then again on the following page.

Click "Run" to run the download and install the software. The installer will automatically open when the download is complete.

Select whether want to make Yahoo your homepage and if you want it to be the standard or custom install (standard is recommended), and then click "Next."

Accept the license agreement and terms, and then click "Next."

Click the "Install" button to install Yahoo Messenger.

Click "Finish" when the installation is complete. You can also choose to launch Yahoo Messenger right away.

Click "Get a new Yahoo! ID" at the bottom of the Yahoo Messenger window to create an ID if you do not have one. If you do have one, just sign in.

Fill out the form on the Web page that appears. You will be required to enter your name, birth date and gender, and to create a Yahoo ID, password and two security questions.

Click "Create Account" to complete the form.

Sign into Yahoo! Messenger with your new name and password.
