How to Make Origami Paper Hats

Paper hats are fun to wear, and they are fun and easy to make, too. You can use smaller origami paper to make miniature hats, or simply use newspaper if you would like to wear the hat. To make a fun, colorful hat, use the comics. Involve children and put on a show after finishing the hats. Everyone can be pirates on the high seas in these fun, origami paper hats.

Instructions

      Choose your paper. You need to start with a rectangle, so newspaper works well. If you have a square, simply cut some of the paper off to create a rectangle.

      Fold your paper in half so that it forms a square. If using a newspaper, the natural fold is fine to use.

      Place the paper on the table with the folded side at the top.

      Fold the top two corners toward the middle, creating a point at the top. Crease the folds very well.

      Fold up the top layer of the bottom of the paper.

    • 6

      Flip the paper over and fold up the other half of the bottom piece.

    • 7

      Open up the hat from the bottom and place it on your head.
