How to Create a Folder in an iPod Playlist

Organizing your playlists will make using your iPod more convenient.

Making folders within your iPod playlists will let you arrange your music to a greater degree than you can with a single playlist. It's an easy process that will make it easier to categorize your iPod music. For example, within a playlist labeled "gym" you could make a folder for running music and another of music for gentle exercises.

Things You'll Need

• USB cable
• iTunes account

Instructions

1. Open iTunes. Go to "File" at the top of the screen.

2. Select "New Playlist" from the drop-down menu that appears.

3. Locate the folder on the left-hand side of the iTunes window labeled "Untitled Playlist." Click on the title. Give the folder a new name.

4. Go to the iTunes Library. Select and drag all the desired songs from the library into the new folder.

5. Plug the iPod into your computer using a USB cable.

6. Click on the iPod icon that appears to the left of the screen to expand the drop-down menu. It will show all of the iPod's playlists.

7. Select the new folder and drag it on top of the iPod playlist where you wish to place it. Wait a moment for the folder to sync before ejecting the iPod from the computer.
