How to Make Bows Out of Ribbon for Wreaths
Wreaths look terrific with large, fluffy bows attached to them. You can create these bows yourself using a bendable craft ribbon and a specific technique. Making the bow is easy, inexpensive and fun because you can customize the bow to be in any pattern that you'd like, personalizing the wreath for any holiday or season.

1
Use scissors to cut four pieces of floral wire, each measuring at least 4 inches long. Set aside.
-
2
Cut some #40 ribbon so that it measures 15 feet long. Measure 12 inches into the ribbon piece, gather the next 12 inches of ribbon into a loop, and twist it to hold.

3
Continue creating a loop with the ribbon and twisting to hold every 12 inches. When you are finished, there should be 13 ribbon loops and two 12-inch sections of free ribbon at each end.
-
4
Weave the pieces of floral wire through the loops, connecting them and twisting the ends together to secure. The design will stay together because the ribbon loops will hold themselves at the twists you made. Attach all the loops, lined up side by side, using as many pieces of the wire as necessary.
-
5
Use your hands to adjust the ribbon loops, fluffing and almost sculpting the ribbon wreath to be the shape you desire.
-
6
Fold the loose ends of the ribbon streamer pieces that hang below the bow in half lengthwise. Use scissors to snip away the corner of one side of the end, going diagonally up to the fold. When you unfold the ribbon, it will have a fishtail-cut design.
