How to Learn How to Park Your Car
Learning how to drive is an exciting experience as it gives people more freedom since they can drive themselves to any location they want to go without someone else present. Parking a car is an important aspect of learning how to drive. Angled and parallel parking and how to park on a hill are all aspects of parking a person must be able to do.

1
Take a driver’s education course. Learn about upcoming driver’s education courses in your community by contacting the office of your local department of motor vehicles (DMV). Enroll in the course to learn how to park a car as well as get practice doing it. Know that while your main focus is on parking, you will also be required to practice driving, turning, merging and other car maneuvers.

2
Hire a private instructor. If you just want to focus only on parking, find a private driving instructor who will help teach and mentor you in this specific aspect. Find an empty parking lot where you can practice angled and parallel parking without the fear of hitting another vehicle. As your parking skills grow, practice parking the car in full parking lots and on busy streets where parallel parking is allowed. If you can’t find an instructor, get a family member or friend who is good at parking to teach and coach you.

Set up a mock parking spot. Find an empty parking lot or area where you can map out a parking spot using cones, buckets, trash cans or other items that you can hit without damaging your car. Create a parallel parking space as well as an angled spot and practice parking in them until you're confident you can do it with real cars.

4
Practice with different vehicles. Vehicles often have a different feel and vary slightly in their movements when operating them, so it’s beneficial to use a few different ones when learning how to park. Ask family members and friends if you can use their vehicles to practice with. Out of the ones you try, find the vehicle that you feel most confident with when parking. Use it for your driving and parking test if the person will allow you.
