How to Uninstall Limewire on a MacBook
LimeWire enables you to search for and download music, videos, images and more from other users connected to the Gnutella network; however, if you are no longer using the program on your MacBook laptop, you can uninstall it safely without interfering with system components. Uninstalling LimeWire from your MacBook frees up system resources such as hard drive space and memory.

Drag the LimeWire icon from the dock to the trash bin. If the LimeWire icon is not on the dock, click "Finder" on the dock to launch the Finder window. Click Macintosh HD in the left pane, and then double-click the "Applications" folder. Locate the LimeWire icon and drag it to the trash bin.

Click "Macintosh HD in the left pane again, double-click the "Users" folder, double-click the "Username" folder, and then double-click the "Preferences" folder. You should see the LimeWire folder. Drag the LimeWire folder to the trash bin.

Click "Macintosh HD" in the left pane again, double-click the "Library" folder, and then double-click the "Receipts" folder. You should see the "Install LimeWire" receipt if you purchased the Pro version of LimeWire. Drag the "Install LimeWire" receipt to the trash bin.

Hold down the "Ctrl" button and click on the trash bin. Select "Empty Trash."

Reboot your computer to complete the removal process.
