How to Make a Child's Frog Costume
Shortly before Halloween, your child may beg you to buy him the latest cheaply made, expensive costume at your local department store. And who can blame you if you decide to buy the costume, considering your busy schedule. But before you give into his pleas, remember that there are plenty of ways to create a unique Halloween costume yourself while only spending a fraction of what most factory produced costumes cost. A funny costume that requires very little work is a child's frog costume.
Things You'll Need
- Green clothing
- Felt (green, black, white and pink)
- Green baseball cap
- Cardboard
- Superglue or glue gun
- Scissors
- Black marker
Instructions

1
Cut out two large circles, about 3 inches in diameter, from a piece of cardboard.
-
2
Using the cardboard cut-outs, trace four circles onto green felt. Draw two circles, about an inch smaller in diameter than the previous circles, onto white felt. Draw yet another pair of circles, smaller than the white pair by an inch, onto black felt.

3
Cut out the green felt circles and glue them onto both sides of the cardboard cut-outs. Glue the white circles in the middle of one side of each of the green circles. In the middle of the white circles, glue the small black circles. You have now created the frog's eyes.
-
4
Glue the frog eyes onto the front of a baseball cap. They should stick out past the top of the cap so that the backs of the circles can be seen from behind.
-
5
Draw a 4-inch tongue onto a piece of cardboard and cut it out using scissors. Use the cardboard as a stencil to make two tongues on pink felt. Cut out the felt tongue pieces.
-
6
Attach the two pink felt pieces to either side of the cardboard tongue cut-out using superglue. Using a black marker, draw a straight line down the middle of the pink tongue from one side to the other.
-
7
Glue the tongue to the underside of the baseball cap's bill, with three-quarters of the tongue protruding from below the bill.
-
8
Dress the child in green clothing--a green jumpsuit or sweat suit works well. Add the green cap and she's ready to trick-or-treat.
