Things You'll Need:
- Water Polo Balls
- Water polo balls
- Water polo goal cage
-
Step 1
Control the ball at arm's length with your opposite shoulder turned against your defender's chest. Eggbeater your hips up and away from him.
-
Step 2
Control the ball by rolling your fingertips down the back of it to give it backspin in the water.
-
Step 3
Dig your elbow under your defender's arm. Grab hold of his suit if you can.
-
Step 4
Pick up the ball and turn in the direction of the arm you have against your defender. Try to turn your defender so that he is on the other side of you in the water.
-
Step 5
Drop the ball, still at a safe arm's length away, as your defender reacts to your movement. This should draw the foul.
-
Step 6
Listen for the foul whistle from the referee. If no foul is called, look for the open pass or try again to draw the foul.
-
Step 7
Relax and stay in control of the ball. Stay between the defender and the ball.

on 9/20/2006 Draw the foul when you don't have the ball by simply going down (like the guard is dunking you) and give a little yell, so the ref draws his attention toward you.
But you have to make sure that the ball isn't in play, and that it will certainly help your team.

on 9/20/2006 If you are hole set, try to draw the foul by rolling your shoulders. First the one that's closer to the defender and then the shoulder furthest away. Put a backspin on the ball and move a little away and down toward the opposite the defender.

on 11/22/2005 If you want to draw a foul on the perimeter,a good tip is to yank your head back in the direction of your defender. The point of this is to make it look as if your defender pulled you backward. Also, try to have your hips swivel back with your head to make it look more convincing.
