Instructions

    • 1

Turn the CO2 supply line off by rotating it clockwise. Remove the tap coupler and detach the CO2 line and the beer lines from the coupler.

    • 2

Purchase a cleaning kit that is specifically made for beer taps, as the cleaning agents will help to break down the buildup that accumulates from beer. Read the directions thoroughly for any specific warnings or instructions before proceeding.

    • 3

Loosen the beer faucet from the tap with a wrench and disassemble the pieces of the faucet. Some companies include a special wrench with their beer tap cleaning kits.

    • 4

Put on rubber gloves and safety goggles to protect yourself during the cleaning process.

    • 5

Dissolve the cleaning detergent in warm water inside a plastic bucket. The amount of detergent and water will be indicated on your cleaning kit. Mix this solution well with a spoon or stir stick.

    • 6

Locate the large canister or jar inside your cleaning kit. Remove the lid with the pump handle attached and pour your detergent mixture into the canister. Screw the lid back on the canister.

    • 7

Attach this cleaning canister to the tap faucet pipe. There should be an adapter and hose in your cleaning kit for this purpose. Make sure that these are attached securely together.

    • 8

Place the tap coupler and faucet in a clean bucket. Position the end of the beer line in the bucket as well. According the specific instructions on your cleaning solution kit, let the solution sit for the indicated amount of time and then proceed to pump the cleaning solution through the line using the pump on the cleaning solution lid. The cleaning solution should empty into the bucket.

    • 9

Scrub all faucet parts with a plastic scrub brush after they have soaked for the allotted amount of time, and them rinse them with clean water.

    • 10

Rinse the canister that held the cleaning solution thoroughly with clean water. Fill the canister with water, reconnect it to the faucet, and proceed to pump clean water through the faucet and beer line to rinse any residual solution that may be lingering. Disconnect the canister when you have finished.

    • 11

Reassemble the faucet and tighten the coupling with the wrench. Reattach your beer line and you are ready to go.
