How to Install Door Speakers in a 1999 Galant

The 1999 Mitsubishi Galant has one speaker in each door mounted to the metal door frame behind the plastic door panel. The door panel is secured to the door frame by screws going around the edge of the door panel. The door panel must be removed to gain excess to the door speakers. The door speakers are mounted to the door frame by two screws on each speaker.

Instructions

1. Open the passenger side front door and locate the screw that secures the door panel to the door frame. Remove the screw using the Phillips head screwdriver.

2. Pull the door panel off of the door frame. Locate the door speaker and the screws holding the door speaker in place on the door frame. Remove the screws.

3. Pull the speaker wire off of the speaker connection. Pull the speaker away from the door and set it aside out of the way.

4. Place the new speaker on the door frame and secure it to the door frame using the screws. Connect the speaker wire to the speaker the same way that you pulled it off.

5. Place the door panel back on the door frame. Replace the securing screws to the edge of the door panel and tighten them.

• These steps are for all four door speakers on the 1999 Mitsubishi Galant.
