Directions for Making a Crocheted Shawl

Chain three. This is the turning chain and will count as the first double crochet stitch. Turn. Double crochet in the next stitch and in each stitch across the row, for a total of 70 double crochet stitches.

Chain one. This is the turning chain and will count as the first single crochet stitch. Turn. Single crochet in the next stitch and in each stitch across the row, for a total of 70 single crochet stitches.

Repeat a double crochet row and a single crochet row, alternating between the two, until the rows of the shawl measure 60-inches. End with a single crochet row.

Chain one and turn. Single crochet in each single crochet stitch across the row. Single crochet three times in the last stitch. Crocheting along the long edge, single crochet once in the end of the single crochet rows and twice in the end of the double crochet rows.
