How to Create Your Own Mother's Day Certificates
Give something different to your mother this Mother's Day by surprising her with a beautiful certificate for personalized gifts such as "dinner and movie," a "free back rub" or "hugs and kisses." You can select slick pink paper, customize the text and add humorous elements to tickle her funny bone. You can roll the certificate scroll-like and tuck it into a bouquet of flowers. Or you can frame the certificate and present it to her at a special dinner or brunch.
Things You'll Need

1
Plan your certificate. Write down your text on a notebook, including a well-thought-out heading, the gift the certificate will represent and a sincere closing.
-
2
Open your word processor or graphics program. Broderbund and Pixia make good graphics programs that are easy to use. Save your file and name it so you can work on the certificate at your own pace.

-
3
Drop a headline box at the top of the certificate, about 1/3 down the page. Create a heading such as "Happy Mother's Day."
-
4
Drop the text box in the center of the page then write an appropriate message, such as "To Mother for being so thoughtful and kind all year." Drop another text box under the message box. In this text box specify the gift that the certificate represents, such as "dinner with me" or "foot rub."
-
5
Add a small horizontal line on the bottom of the certificate. This line should be three to four inches in length. Type your name under the line and add the date.
-
6
You can add a decorative border to the edge of the certificate. A floral or rose border is always a good choice for Mother's Day.
-
7
Print the certificate on the pink paper. Sign your name on the line. Allow the ink to dry then roll or fold your certificate.
