How to Make Flower Pens With Ribbon
Decorative pens add flair and pizazz to even the most dull of writing assignments. If you want to make flower pens with ribbon for yourself or your kids, all you need are a few basic crafting supplies. This craft is suitable to make with older children, but younger ones might be burned by the hot glue. Make several flower pens with ribbons and give them away to brighten someone's day.

1
Cut the stem on an artificial flower so that it is approximately 3 inches long. Place it next to the non-writing end of a pen and wrap it three to four times with florist's tape to secure it in place.
-
2
Place a dot of hot glue on the end of a strip of 1/2-inch ribbon. Fold over the edge and secure it with the glue dot so you don't have to expose the frayed edge.

3
Place a 1-inch line of hot glue on the top edge of the pen, over the florist's tape. Wrap the ribbon in a spiral pattern down the length of the pen, covering the glue.
-
4
Continue to glue and wrap the ribbon around the pen until you reach the end. Cut the ribbon with 1 inch excess.
-
5
Place a dot of glue on the cut end of the ribbon and fold over the end. Now add more glue to the end of the pen and wrap the ribbon to secure it. When the glue dries the pen will be ready to use.
