How to Fix a Water Damaged LG Rumor Cell Phone

Spilling water on your LG Rumor doesn't mean it's gone forever.

Getting your LG Rumor wet can cause permanent damage--in some cases requiring you to replace the phone. But you might be able to reduce or eliminate water damage with a plastic bag and a little uncooked rice.

Instructions

1. Power off your phone immediately after it's gotten wet. Leaving it on can cause short outs.

2. Use a dry cloth to wipe off any water on the phone's exterior.

3. Remove the battery from the back of your LG Rumor by sliding it off. Wipe up any water inside the battery compartment. Leave the battery off of the phone.

4. Fill a plastic bag with uncooked rice, place your phone in the bag and seal it airtight.

5. Wait 24 hours and remove your phone.

6. Replace the battery and attempt to power on your phone. If the phone still appears to have water inside it (you will notice on the screen) remove the battery and put the phone back in the bag for another 24 hours.

Tips & Warnings

• Drying out a phone can sometimes take several days. Be patient.
