Instructions

    • 1

Moisten a paper towel, add a drop of dish detergent, and wipe over both surfaces where you plan to apply the glue. Rub a piece of fine-grain steel wool over the steel surface if any heavy residue is present. This creates a clean, residue-free surface that will work best for glue adhesion.

    • 2

Apply a thin layer of glue to each surface. Since these are two strong materials, it is important to apply the glue to both sides.

    • 3

Let sit for 15 seconds to allow the glue to begin the drying process.

    • 4

Push the steel and plexiglas together, and hold firmly into place for 5 minutes. When possible, lay the items on the side instead of leaving them standing upright.

    • 5

Place a clamp or heavy object such as a book onto one of the surfaces to hold the objects in place.

    • 6

Let sit overnight to allow enough time for the glue to fully dry and adhere.

Tips & Warnings

  • Read the product label to make sure the glue you plan to use is designed for use on both plexiglas and metal surfaces; each glue typically has a list of suitable surfaces uses on the package. Also choose a glue that dries clear, as you do not want the glue to be noticeable through the plexiglas surface.
