If you own a large egg crate mattress pad, you know that it will not fit in your washing machine. You will need to clean this mattress pad by hand. Things You'll Need

  • Vacuum with attachments
  • Water
  • Fabric cleaner
  • Spray bottle

Instructions

      Place one of your smaller attachments on your vacuum cleaner, and vacuum both sides of your egg create mattress pad. This will take a few minutes but will remove any dirt found on the pad.

      Fill a spray bottle 3/4 full of water.

      Add fabric cleaner to the spray bottle until the spray bottle is full.

      Spray your egg crate mattress pad with this solution. Make sure you get both sides of the foam. Wait half an hour before continuing.

      Take your egg crate mattress pad to your shower and hose it down to remove the fabric cleaner. Squeeze excess water out by folding the mattress pad in half and pressing the water out.

      Set your egg crate mattress pad outside in the sun to dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also use a wet/dry vac to get some of the water out of the mattress pad. This may speed up your drying time.

  • You can spray your mattress pad with 3/4 cup of water mixed with 1/4 cup of vinegar if the mattress pad has any bad odors that you want to get rid of.
