How to Draw Cartoon People: Heads

Drawing is something that comes naturally to many people. To others it can be a source of extreme frustration. The biggest key to drawing is to maintain your patience and continue to practice. Like other skills, learning to draw takes time and repetition. Many aspiring drawing artists start out by drawing cartoon heads, which is quick and requires only a few simple steps.       Draw an oval shape, then another one next to it. These will be the eyes of the head you are drawing.

      Position your pencil at the bottom of the left oval and draw a round curve for a nose. Underneath the round curve sketch a rounded shape similar to a cursive "y." This will become the chin and mouth of the cartoon head.

      Sketch a small semicircle to the right of the eyes and connect it to the "y"-shaped chin with a long, swooping curve. You will see the face beginning to take shape.

      Complete the drawing by adding in square teeth in the mouth and a semicircle with a line in the middle for the tongue. Add in two dots for the pupils of the eyes, then sketch tufts of hair at the top of the head. Your cartoon head is now complete.
