Make My Yahoo! your home page on the web with a few simple clicks.

If you like to start up your Internet browser to a landing page that is as familiar as "home" every day, then your own "Yahoo!" homepage---or "My Yahoo!"---might be to your liking. "My Yahoo!" allows you to customize your homepage with modules such as news, weather, driving directions, TV listings, colors, themes and more. "My Yahoo!" is free, and content is updated regularly. With your login information, you can check your "My Yahoo!" page from any computer on any Web browser.

      In the URL address bar at the top of your Internet browser, type in "my.yahoo.com, then hit "Enter."

      Note the orange bar with the text "Welcome to your very own page. Want to personalize it to reflect your interests?" Click on the box that says, "Yes, please."

      Enter a city or U.S. ZIP code in the box on the "Tell us your location" window that opens. Click the small check box if you wish to make this location your default so that each time you sign on to "My Yahoo!," your city will be the default. Click the "Next" box.

      Choose your interests for your "My Yahoo!" home page. In the "Tell us what you want" box, click the box next to the content you wish to see on your page. Choose any or all of your own area's local content, or select from "News," "Fun," "Hobbies," "Photography," "Reference" or "Arts." Select and click "Next."

      Note the "How easy was that?" box. Click "Done" or go to "Add content" to discover more content for your page.

      Sign into your "Yahoo" login name, if you have one, to save your changes.

      Register to create a "Yahoo!" ID if you do not have a login name. Enter your name, birthday, country and postal code, then select an ID and password. Once your ID is approved, type in a password, then retype the password to verify. Enter alternative email address and answer secret questions. Type in the code shown, then click "Continue" to experience "My! Yahoo."

      Note the "Add content" or "Change appearance" links at the top of your new page to add more modules. Change the colors to your liking by choosing from a variety of themes. Continue to explore the content options until you are satisfied with the layout of your page. You do not need to save changes for these additions.

Tips & Warnings

  • Drag the purple "Y!" to the "Home" icon in your toolbar, and drop it there to make "My Yahoo!" your home page when you start up your computer.
