How to Create Your Own Math Worksheet for Kids
To help your kids excel in school, you may give them extra work at home on the subjects that they don't understand. Create math worksheets for your child to do at home to tackle difficult math subjects. There are a few ways that you can create your own math worksheets at home. Choose the method that works best for you and your child. It isn't difficult to do and only takes a few minutes of your time.

Use one of the pre-made math worksheets for Microsoft Word. Open Microsoft Word. Click on "File > New" (Word 97 to 2003) or "Office button > New" (Word 2007) to start a new document based on a template. Type "math worksheet" in the search box at the top of the window. You will have to be connected to the internet so that online templates will appear in the results. Choose the math worksheet template that you want to create and click "Download." The worksheet opens in Word; customize it to your child's needs.

Use Superkids to generate and print math worksheets online for free. Go to the Superkids website (see Resource section for links). Click on the category for what type of sheets you want to create (i.e. Addition, Subtraction, Division, etc.). Click on the subcategory in the next screen. Select additional options for the worksheet; such as number of problems and difficulty of the problems. Click on "Make My Worksheet!"

Use Excel to create the worksheets manually. Open the a new blank worksheet by clicking on the "New" icon in the toolbar. Type in the problems for the math worksheet based on the grade level and the topics currently being covered at school. Use your child's math book for reference. Save the worksheet by clicking on the "Save" icon in the toolbar. Print the worksheet out by clicking on the "Print" icon on the toolbar.
