Page layouts are just the design of pages and quite literally how they are laid out. The style doesn't matter, if you want to do an anime (Japanese cartoons) layout, you just use anime images as opposed to a sports layout where you'd use sports images. The layout can be for a print page in a magazine, newspaper, or book, but the layout could also be for a webpage. Either way, the software is going to be the same, and there are multiple options. If you are willing to invest the time, you can make your own anime layout.

It is expensive but comes with plenty of tools for you to do a page layout for either a website or a print page. It'll handle your anime images without problem and save them in the highest quality. One of its key features is its integrated connections to Adobe Flash player so you can make your layout (for webpages anyway) more connected to Adobe Flash.

Download and try Inkscape (there is a download link in the Resources). Inkscape is an open source page layout software. This means that it is 100% free to use, redistribute, and has no limits. The downside to being free is the quality of the work will never be as high as paid software even at its best. The tools it does come with are useful for free tools though. It offers a lot of the same basic functions as Adobe Indesign and it even compatible with the same file formats.

Give QuarkXpress a whirl (there is a link to this product's webpage in the Resources). This product is also paid software like Adobe Indesign, and the prices are about the same. This software is one of the oldest page layout softwares available so many people are familiar with it, and it is still popular to this day. It offers the dictionaries and hyphenation in more than 30 languages so your layout can be popular in many different languages. All this customization is available right in one program itself.

Pick page layout software you like and when you get it installed, import all your anime images. You'll import them from the file menu in most cases like so "File > import."

Position and edit your anime images as you want them to appear on the layout. Then, add any text or typography you wish to have in your layout.

Export your layout and publish it to the web if it is a webpage, or print it directly from the program if it is a printed layout.
