Instructions

    • 1

Bathe your Pomeranian using a high-quality shampoo that is designed for long-haired dogs. Use conditioner to soften and detangle his coat as well. Rinse him and towel him dry. Don't progress to clipping or further grooming until the Pomeranian is dry.

    • 2

Clip your Pomeranian's coat to keep it neat and clean. Pomeranians have a top coat and an undercoat and should never be clipped all the way down to their skin. Instead, use the clippers to trim off any uneven hair at the outer edge of the Pomeranian's coat.

    • 3

Brush the Pomeranian after clipping to remove tangles and any loose hair. Be careful not to yank while you're brushing your dog, and always brush or clip in the same direction as hair growth.

    • 4

Clip your Pomeranian's nails to keep the dog's paws healthy and to keep him from scratching you if he jumps up. Using nail clippers that are designed for dogs, gently spread the dog's toes and trim off only the tips of the nails where the nail hooks. Tramming nails too close will hurt your dog.

Tips & Warnings

  • Start grooming and training a dog when he is a puppy.

  • Clippers will got hot after extended use and could burn you or your dog.
