Crochet Pot Holder Instructions
If you can crochet using even basic stitches, you can crochet a pot holder. Make a crochet pot holder for your own kitchen or give them away as gifts. Crochet pot holders are simple to make because they only require you to make a square. If you use the right yarn you can make an easy-care pot holder that will last for years to come.

1
Use a double strand of worsted weight cotton yarn to do this project. This way your stitches will be close together and your finished product will be thick, which will help protect the user from kitchen burns.
-
2
Chain 31 stitches. Single crochet in the second chain from the hook and in every chain across. Chain one and turn.
-
-
3
Single crochet in every stitch across, then chain one and turn. Repeat this step until the pot holder's length matches its width.
-
4
After the last stitch of your work, chain 10 and then join with a slip stitch back into the last single crochet. This will make a loop for your pot holder to hang from if needed.
-
5
Fasten off and cut the working yarn, weaving in all of your loose ends with a large eye blunt needle. If the pot holder seems unevenly shaped, lightly steam it with an iron to stretch it into the proper position.
