How to Clean Install Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer is one of the most popular Web browsers and is mainly used in Windows operating systems. Malicious tools, including viruses, spyware and trojans, can damage Internet Explorer and cause it to crash. If you're frequently having problems with Internet Explorer, you can uninstall it and then do a clean installation of the browser, which may resolve the problems.

Uninstall Internet Explorer. To do this, click the Windows "Start" button and then click the "Control Panel." Double-click "Add or Remove Programs" if you are using Windows XP. If you are using Windows Vista, click "Programs and Features" or "Programs." Click "Show updates" (Windows XP) or "View installed updates" (Windows Vista). Scroll through the programs window, click Internet Explorer and then click "Remove/Uninstall."

Follow the guided prompts to complete the uninstall. When prompted, restart your computer.

Go to the Internet Explorer download page (see Resources) and click "Download." Select your country/region, select the operating system you are using and then click "Download." When prompted, click "Save" to launch the file-saving dialog box. Select the location you want to download the installation file to, then click "Save."

Double-click the installation file that you downloaded, then click "Run" to launch the installation wizard.
