Turn an empty water bottle into a noisemaker.

Whether you are cheering on the field or in the stands, a noisemaker is a great way to show support for your team. Purchasing a noisemaker is an option, but making one is an easy and inexpensive way to cheer your team to victory. Making noisemakers can be a fun project for an individual, cheerleading squad or the team.

Things You'll Need

  • Plastic water bottle
  • Dry beans or rocks
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Tissue paper in school colors
  • Stickers, paint, glitter (optional)
  • Water
  • Paintbrush

Instructions

  1. How to Make Cheerleading Noisemakers

    • 1

      Wash out the bottle and completely remove the label. Allow bottle to dry before continuing the project.

      Put a handful of beans or rocks into the bottle. The less beans or rocks you add, the more noise it will make. Apply glue around the mouth of the bottle and secure lid.

      Mix 2 tbsp water with 2 tbsp glue to create a glue paste.

      Tear tissue paper into 4 inch squares. Use paintbrush to spread a layer of glue paste on a small portion of the bottle. Apply a tissue paper square onto the glue, paint over it with glue paste. Continue this process, alternating team colors until bottle is covered with tissue paper.

      Decorate the bottle with stickers, paint or glitter in team colors.

Tips & Warnings

  • Ensure the bottle cap is secured before giving this item to small children. Small items inside are a choking hazard.
