How to Create a Yahoo Account in Outlook Express

Launch Outlook Express, click the "Tools" menu located on the top, and then click "Accounts" to launch the accounts wizard.

Click the "Mail" tab, click the "Add" button, and then select "Mail." In the open box, type the display name that you want to use and click "Next." Type your Yahoo! email address in the "Email" box, and then click "Next."

Select "POP3" in the "My incoming mail server is a" box, type "plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com" (without quotes) in the "Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server" box, and then type "plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com" (without quotes) in the "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server" box. Click "Next."

Type your Yahoo! ID in the "Account name" box and type your Yahoo! account password. Select "Remember password" if you do not want to type your password each time you want to access Yahoo! mail. Do not select the "Log on using Secure" checkbox. Click "Next." Click "Finish" to save your account and exit the wizard

Authenticate the Yahoo! mail outgoing server. To do so, click the "Tools" menu again and click "Accounts." Click the mail tab, click your Yahoo! mail account, and then click "Properties." Click the "Servers" tab, click the "My server requires authentication" check-box, and then click the "Advanced" tab.

Type "465" (without quotes) in the "Outgoing mail (SMTP)" field, and then type "995" (without quotes) in the "Incoming mail (POP3)" box. Click the "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" check-box, and then click "OK" to save the changes. Click "Close."
