Burn a video DVD.

The only way you can view self made content on a stand alone DVD player(a DVD player that plugs into a television) is if the DVD has video content burned into it. All DVD burning programs possess the ability to burn a video DVD format disc. Once created and inserted into the DVD player the video contents can be displayed on the connected television screen.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert a blank DVD into the DVD burner on your computer and launch the DVD burning software installed on the system. If there is a DVD burner on the computer you have a specially designed program to create DVDs. Some of the most popular are Roxio, AVS Disc Creater and Nero. All three programs perform in an extremely similar way.

    • 2

Select "Video DVD" as the format of DVD you want to create. This open is presented to you once you load the DVD burning program.

    • 3

Choose "Add Files" from the left side of the window, then choose the movie files you want to add. These video files can be in a variety of different movie formats, ranging from .wmv, .mov, .mpeg and .avi (just to name a few).

Click "Burn" and the DVD video is created. Depending on the size of the files this process can take a few minutes to complete. Once done you can eject the video DVD from the computer and insert it into a stand alone DVD player. The content now loads onto the television screen.
