Check out craft and jewelry supply stores to find varieties of hemp twine. Hemp twine is available in its natural color, which is a light tan, or you can purchase dyed hemp that comes in a wide variety of color choices. Choose a one millimeter, 20 pound hemp twine in the color you like to get started. Pick out beads or charms that complement your bracelet design ideas. Make sure the openings for stringing the beads or charms are larger than one millimeter in diameter or you won't be able to thread the hemp through the hole. Purchase metal cord tips, clasps and jump rings to finish the ends of your bracelets.

Learn the basic knots for making hemp jewelry. Cut four pieces of hemp twine to practice the simple knots. The two middle strands are base strands, while the strands to the left and right of the base strands are used for knotting. Knot the twine by tying a simple overhand knot with the piece of twine to the right of the base strands looping behind them, and the right hand piece of twine tied on top of the knot. Continue repeating this same knot to create a twine spiral. Alternate between the first knot and an overhand knot with the left piece of twine on top of the knot to create a flat strip of knotted twine.

Add decorations to hemp bracelets by threading the base strands through the beads of charms. Continue the knotting process underneath the bead or charm to hold it in place. Make sure to leave enough twine around the decoration so that it sits properly between the hemp knots. Make decorative loops of twine along the bracelet by forming loops with the left or right pieces of twine and then continuing the knots underneath the loops to secure them in place.

Try more elaborate designs by knotting multiple strands of hemp and braiding the knotted strands together or knotting multiple beads and charms along the entire length of the bracelet. Finish bracelets by bunching the strands of twine together and sliding the cord tips over the ends. Use pliers to pinch the hollow end of the cord tip over the hemp twine to secure the strands. Twist open a jump ring and thread it through the loop on the end of the cord tip, pinching it closed with pliers. To attach a clasp, open a jump ring and thread the ring through the cord tip ring and the clasp ring and close the jump ring with pliers.
