How to Program a Car Remote for an Older Garage Door
As garage door opening systems became popularized in the early 1990s, many auto manufacturers began installing onboard remotes in their vehicles. These remote systems are programmed from within your garage using just the opener remote, and can be programmed in minutes. Even older garage doors can be programmed to newer openers by using the "smart" button on the motor's system. HomeLink systems are available as aftermarket options on a wide variety of new vehicles, or can be purchased and installed from automotive stores and dealerships on older vehicles without the system.
