How to Burn Files on a Used CD
Burning new files on a used CD is not possible unless the CD is of a rewritable format, such as the CD-RW. In the case of a CD-RW, the used CD can be erased and new files can be burned onto it for storage.

On a Mac

Insert the used CD-RW into your computer.

Open the Finder, click "Applications" and select "Disc Utility."

Click the "Erase" tab and select the CD-RW disc in the Disc Utility menu.

Click the "Erase" button and the used CD-RW will be erased.

Exit out of Disc Utility.

Click "File" then "Create New Burn Folder."

Name the folder then double-click the folder to open it.

Drag the files that you would like to copy to the used CD-RW into the folder and click "Burn." When the burning is finished, you've successfully burned files on a used CD.
On a PC

Insert the used CD-RW into your computer.

Open "My Computer."

Right-click the used CD-RW and select "Open."

Choose "Erase this CD-RW." The CD Writing Wizard will appear. Click "Next" and the used CD-RW will be erased.

Exit out of the CD Writing Wizard and eject the used CD-RW.

Insert the CD-RW back into your computer. A dialog box will appear asking what you would like to do with the CD.

Choose "Burn files to data disc" in the dialog box.

Name the disc and click "Show formatting options."

Select "Mastered" and click "Next." An empty disc folder will appear.

Drag the files you would like to copy into the folder and click "Burn to disc." When the burning is finished, you've successfully burned files on a used CD.
