Instructions

    • 1

Lay your fondant onto a hard, clean surface. Roll the icing out until it is only 1/8-inch thick.

    • 2

Place a ruler on top of the icing. Use a kitchen knife to slice the icing into 3-inch by 7-inch ribbons. Keep in mind that one ribbon will make only one rose.

    • 3

Fold your first ribbon over lengthwise. Starting from the bottom, roll the entire folded ribbon up. Use your fingers to pinch the icing as your roll it up to create a more "opened" rose.

    • 4

Cut the end of the icing off at the bottom of the rose. This will make a flat surface at the bottom of the rose so it can rest on the cake easier.

    • 5

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 with the rest of your ribbons. When you are finished, you can knead the cut ends of the ribbon roses together to make a ball. Roll the ball into an 1/8-inch thick sheet and repeat Steps 2 through 4 again to make more roses.
