How to Play a Wallet CD on a Regular CD-ROM Player

How to Play a Wallet CD on a Regular CD-ROM Player thumbnail
Pocket CDs will play in regular CD-ROM players.

Pocket CDs or mini-CDs play in most regular CD-ROM players with trays. If the CD-ROM tray has a center spindle, you can conveniently load the mini-CD onto the spindle, just as you would for a regular CD. This center spindle is, however, not present in all tray-loading CD players. It is generally found in most laptops, while some desktops come with a small, inner well to accommodate the mini-CDs.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "Open" button of your CD-ROM player.

    • 2

Hold the pocket CD along the outside edges, and position the small central hole of your mini CD on top of the center spindle of the CD tray. Gently push the CD downwards until you hear a click. If your CD-ROM doesn't have a center spindle, simply place the pocket CD in the smaller well in the center of the CD-ROM tray.

    • 3

Push the CD-ROM tray to close it.

    • 4

Open the CD player software on your PC. Click on "File" from the top main menu and select "Open." Navigate to the CD-ROM drive and select "OK" to play the CD. Alternatively, you can also go to "My Computer" and double-click the CD-ROM drive to play the CD. In some cases, the CD may play automatically.

Tips & Warnings

  • Most mini-CDs won't work in slot-loading players.
