How to Export an MSN Messenger Contact to Yahoo Messenger

Yahoo! Messenger enables you to stay in contact with friends, family and coworkers who use instant messaging services such as Yahoo!, MSN and a variety of social networks. Exporting contacts from your MSN, or Windows Live, Messenger to Yahoo! Messenger doesn't require much work and only takes a few seconds of your time. Exporting your MSN account contacts to Yahoo! makes it more convenient to maintain communications on various platforms by using only the Yahoo! Messenger program.

Instructions

1. Open your Yahoo! Messenger program and allow it to sign in. If you don't have Yahoo Messenger, download it and install it. The whole process, sign-up included, only takes about five minutes.

2. Locate the Contacts tab at the top of the the messenger program.

3. Click the tab and select "Import Contacts" from the drop-down list. A box will appear, displaying a variety of messenger platforms and social networks.

4. Highlight the box next to MSN Messenger, and the boxes next to any others that you want to import to your Yahoo! Messenger account.

5. Agree to the Yahoo! terms of service and click the "Next" button. Allow the program up to several minutes to gather all of your contacts and add them.
