How to Make an Origami Star Out of Sticky Notes
Making a ninja throwing star out of sticky notes can be categorized as modular origami, as you are using eight sheets of identically sized paper or sticky notes folded in a particular manner to create one complete piece. This is a great activity for quiet moments at the office or when you need a break from work or study. You can make several of them out of different colored sticky notes and start a collection or give them away as gifts. Alternatively, you can use an origami throwing star as a new way to pass notes: just write your note on the star and throw it like a Frisbee to the recipient.

Peel a sticky note off the pad. Lay it on a flat surface with the sticky strip facing upwards. Fold it in half.

Unfold the sticky note. Fold the right corner inwards towards the middle crease. Repeat with the left corner. You should now have what resembles a child's basic drawing of a house: a structure with a square at the bottom and a pointed top.

Fold the piece lengthwise, with the flaps going inwards. You should now have what looks like half of a child's drawing of a house.

Fold the entire structure in half. You should now have a piece that is 1/4 of its original size. It should look like a square on one side and a triangle on the other.

Unfold the square to the house shape in step two. Fold the top of the house down to the bottom edge of the structure.

Flip the piece over and fold it in half again. You should now have a small square with an outer diagonal fold going through the middle on each side of the square.

Pull the outer diagonal fold outwards as you push the inner fold of the square outwards as well. You should now have a rhombus.

Repeat steps one to seven with seven more sticky notes until you have seven rhombus shapes.

Pick up one rhombus. One end should be closed and the other end should be open: it should have two flaps. Slide the closed end of one rhombus between the two flaps of the other rhombus. When doing this you'll notice the two flaps will have a bit of overhang upon the closed flap of the rhombus.

Fold each overhanging piece of flap inwards, so that it cradles the rhombus that rests in between its two flaps. Repeat step nine and ten with your remaining rhombus shapes until you have a complete circle, or throwing star.
