How to Upload Videos on YouTube in High Quality
Recently, YouTube implemented technology that allows users to upload their videos in high quality (or high definition). Uploading videos that have been created in high definition allows YouTube users to view videos in the highest possible quality. Adding high definition videos to YouTube can be done entirely within the YouTube website.

Launch your preferred web browser and navigate to the YouTube website. Double-click the icon of your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Opera) on your desktop to open the browser window. Access the YouTube website by entering the YouTube URL in the address bar (see link in Resources section of this article).

Click the "Sign In" link located on the upper right hand corner of the YouTube website. Enter your username and password and click the "Sign in" button to log in to your account.

Select the "Upload" button at the top of the website. Click the "Upload Video" button under the "Video File Upload" heading on the web page that appears.

Locate the video you wish to upload on your computer in the window that pops up. Type in a title for your video underneath the "Title" heading. Add a description for the video you are uploading below the "Description" heading. Tag the video with short descriptive phrases that outline the video's content under the "Tags" label. Select a category that suits the video's contents from the drop down menu underneath the "Category" heading. Choose whether you would like your video to be shared with the world or kept private by selecting the appropriate option below the "Privacy" heading.

Click the blue "Save Changes" button. Your video will be uploaded with the title, description, tags, category and privacy settings you have entered. The video will be viewable in the quality it has been taken in, up to a 1080p resolution.

Tips & Warnings
Uploading an original video that you have shot yourself (as opposed to a downloaded video) ensures the best viewing quality.
The best quality in which a YouTube video can be uploaded is 1080p.
Although your video will be available in high quality, users can always choose to view it in lower quality.
In order to upload your video in high quality, it must be shot in a high-definition resolution (either 1920x1080 or 1280x720).
Videos must not exceed 10 minutes in length or 2GB (gigabytes) in file size, and have either a .AVI, .MOV, .MPG or .WMV file extension.
