How to Delete Songs Off of an iPod Mini
Before the iPod Nano became the smaller alternative to the iPod, there was the iPod Mini. Discontinued to make way for the Nano in 2005, the iPod Mini lacks many of the features of newer iPods--color screen, video and photo capability--but can still hold up to 1,000 or 1,500 songs, depending on whether you have a first or second generation model. If you find yourself with an iPod Mini, you can still add new music to it, but because of its comparatively small storage space, you may need to remove some old music first.

Tips & Warnings
The iPod Mini is also supplied with a dock connector to FireWire cable. If your computer doesn't have an available high-speed USB port but has a FireWire port, you can use the FireWire cable instead of the USB cable.
If you choose to delete a playlist rather than an individual song, the song will not be deleted from your iPod Mini and you won't free up any memory.
