How to Make Homemade Crafts From Glass Ball Ornaments
Make homemade crafts from glass ball ornaments. While glass ornaments work well for Christmas decorations, they also are suitable for everyday craft projects. Fill glass balls with different items to make decorations you can use in your home year-round. Create gifts for friends and family members, or keepsakes from your vacation.
Things You'll Need
- Three clear glass ball ornaments
- Potpourri
- Small funnel, heavy paper or aluminum foil
- Beads
- Faux pearls
- Sand
- Seashells
- Ribbon
Instructions
-
-
1
Remove the metal tops from the glass ball ornaments. Set them aside.
-
2
Crumble up your favorite potpourri so it will fit into the ornament's opening. Use a small funnel to add potpourri to one of the ornaments. Use heavy paper or aluminum foil to add the ingredients if you do not have a small funnel.

3
Add iridescent beads or faux pearls to the second glass ball ornament. Choose beads in the same color or alternate layers in different colors. Fill the ornament almost to the rim.
-
4
Fill half of the third glass ball with sand. Add small seashells.
-
5
Replace the ornaments' tops. Thread a small piece of thin ribbon through each ornament. Choose ribbons that complement each ornament's contents. For instance, blue ribbon works well with a seashell ornament. The color reflects the ocean and sky.
-
6
Hang the filled glass ornaments near windows or lamps. The heat from the sun or a light bulb will release the potpourri scent throughout the room.
