Mimosa Tree Planting Instructions
Mimosa trees are large, fast-growing trees that are extremely fragrant and attract butterflies. Their blooms can appear in a variety of colors and are a favorite of hummingbirds. Mimosa trees will grow an average of 20 to 30 feet tall and 20 feet wide and are also known as silk trees because of the abundant soft flowers. Measure the width and depth of the root ball of the seedling.

Dig a hole twice the depth and width of the seedling's root ball.

Remove the tree from the pot and break up the dirt around the root ball to loosen the roots and allow them to grow properly.

Insert the root ball into the prepared hole. Ensure that the plant is sitting straight and fill the dirt in around the root ball and pack firmly into the hole.

Water the new seedling daily for the first week to give the roots a chance to become established.
