How to Make a High School Graduation Invitation Plaque
A high school graduation invitation is a memento to be treasured for a lifetime, particularly if it's your graduation. Whether you are a graduate, the parent of a graduate or the grandparent of a graduate -- or even just an interested friend or friend of the family -- making a high school graduation invitation plaque will give you an interesting, one-of-a-kind wall hanging to keep for yourself or give to a graduate. Framing a graduation invitation in plaque form will preserve the invitation indefinitely.

1
Apply a coat of tinted varnish, tinted stain or paint to a piece of plain wood. If you prefer the look of tinted wood, use varnish or stain. However, if you want to incorporate the plaque into the overall design scheme of a room, you may prefer painting the plaque.
-
2
Place one of your invitations to the plaque and affix it with glue. You can use regular glue, wood glue or craft glue. Mount the invitation with the glue. You can also add a graduation picture and/or a name card to the wood for extra personalization.

3
Spray clear varnish over the invitation and other items you've affixed to the plaque. Do so only after the glue has set and your items are firmly affixed. Clear varnish will seal the graduation invitation, pictures and other items from the elements.
-
4
Add a hook to the back of the wood plaque if you want to hang it on a wall, or present it in a plate or plaque stand.
