How to Add a Hard Drive to a DVD Recorder

Connecting a hard drive to your DVD recorder will enable you to store more data without deleting stored programs. It's as easy as hooking up a simple IDE computer hard drive--the drives used in a DVD recorder are the same types used in computers.

Instructions

  Remove the screws located on the bottom of the DVD recorder.
- 2
  
  Lift the case up, exposing the drive(s).
- 3
  
  Screw the new drive into the mounting bay.
- 4
  
  Connect the ribbon/IDE cable to the data port and attach a power lead to the power port on the rear of the drive.
