How to Fill a Sheaffer Snorkel Statesman Fountain Pen
The Sheaffer Snorkel Statesman fountain pen is considered to have one of the most complex filling mechanisms of fountain pens. However, it is also considered to be a much cleaner fountain pen because the nib does not have to be submerged and then wiped off once it's filled. Tips & Warnings
When filling the pen for the first time, dip the tip of the pen into the ink bottle so that the tip will be moistened with ink. Every time thereafter, the pen tip will already be moistened from previous use.
Don't immerse the tip of the pen into the ink bottle---only the tube.
Always cover your work surface with a paper towel or newspaper so that you don't damage your work surface if ink spills.
