How to Block Pop Ups With Opera

Pop-up advertisements are extra browser windows that launch automatically when you visit certain websites. They display everything from shopping sprees and music downloads to coupons and movie rentals. Pop-up advertisements slow down browser speed and performance. Some of them even install tracking cookies on your server. With the Opera browser, you can block pop-up advertisements quickly and easily.

      Click the Windows "Start" button, select "All Programs" and then click "Opera" to launch the web browser. If you are using a Mac, launch Opera by clicking the Opera icon on the dock.

      Select the "Settings" option on your web browser, then scroll down and select "Quick Preferences." Select "Pop-ups" and select the blocking option that you want to use. Select the "Not to display" option if you want to block all pop-ups. Select the option "Display those that you request" if you want to allow pop-ups for certain websites.

      Save the changes when you finish. If you chose to block all the pop-ups, you no longer see pop-up advertisements in your web browser.
